Question: Opiate relapse... wanna get back on suboxone. just have a few questions?
(Posted by: jimmywilson on 2010-07-23 04:57:40)
I was being treated with suboxone for opiate addiction for about 3 months and decided to "jump off " about 5 months ago. Needless to say I relapsed about 2 months ago and am back to my old ways... Dope sick 75 % of the time, and am looking to get back on suboxone. Im not sure how I will be received at the clinic. If I cant pass a UA will I be turned away? Is there a standard policy for dropouts? Irregardless I'll be going back sometime soon, just looking for some input from someone who's had a similar experience. Thanks in advance! |

Methadone is a synthetic opioid used medically as a painkiller, but also to treat patients on opioids such as heroin. |

Cannabis would help you get off everything. and then when you are ready to stop taking cannabis you will have no withdrawl symtoms. |

In my experience you will not be turned away for pissing dirty when you come back, because obviously you relapsed or you wouldn't be coming back, right? Just be honest with them and don't give them a reason to distrust you and you should be alright. If you can afford it though, I'd suggest seeing a personal doctor for Suboxone instead of going to a clinic, clinics can be a little harsher about things. |

Most sub doctors will give you one or two chances...meaning 1-2 dirty urine tests. There are ways around this of course. First H is out of your system and undetectable after 3 days. The problem i had was testing positive for pot, and i had no intention of giving that up. I solved that problem by bringing in someone else's clean urine, in a pill bottle hidden in my sock. That way it stays body temp. Seriously though, go read some posts at subsux.com and learn how to get off sub easier...Not easy, but easier, with the support of people who have actually done it and lived to tell about it. Good luck...relapses are part of opiate recovery, and counseling is a must. |

Suboxone is not a drug you can jump off of, after 3 months...as you found out. you need to taper it down to a very low dose first. subsux.com for help, info, and support from people who have done it. |
