Suboxone: Methadone & Heroin Facts

Question: I've been an addict for yrs.i relapsed a mo.ago&be4 it gets bad im gonna taper off w/suboxone,ne suggestions?

I'm 23 and have been battling with opiate addiction for yrs. now!I've been to detox, rehab, methadone clinic, jail and I ALWAYS end up going back to drugs.The past couple mos.I have been doing at min 80 mg a day(injected).I dont want to go to the methadone clinic or subuxone clinic, so a friend told me to get some suboxone and taper off myself..Any suggestions on how to do this with the least amout of w/ d's would be highly appreciated...Thank You

I'm sorry that addiction gat ahold of you. There are million in the same boat. Go back to rehab or the methadone clinic if you need to. There is no shame. Almost all opiate users need several times at rehab. I can't recommend withdrawing on your own. Seizures are very possible , but it comes in 2 doses. take the lowest dose first and see how that helps. NEVER chew or crush it. Ist off people don;t get seizures from opiate detox like the above poster said, and it is very common and safe to detox at home. you are smart in not wanting to get on methadone or suboxone maintenance, because that stuff ruins lives worse than heroin. A short sub detox will work good though. That's how most 30 day rehabs do it now. Your sub use should last 7-14 days, start with 2-4 mg's a day depending on how bad your addiction is, and wean to 0.5 mg over the course of that week or two. Ideally, a starting dose of 2 mg's would be best, and that is still the equiv. of 100 mg's of morphine. subsux.com can help you more
