Help me... pain pill addiction?
i am addicted to pain pills.. vicodin, percocet, and whatever else is available. i have been for 2 years. i have wasted so much money and time on my addiction. i am severely depressed and just want to be done. i have health insurance, but am so embarrassed to tell my doctor, who already questions my motives because i've gone to doctor appointments trying to scheme ways to get more pills i.e. back pain, neck pain, etc. i just want to be done with this and be able to enjoy life without having to pop a pill. i've tried stopping and have but only for a few weeks. i have terrible withdrawls and it increases my depression immensely. i hide my addiction from so many people who care about me. i just want someone to talk to.

Can being hooked on pain pills cause a person to have open sores on their face and arms or is is some other type of drug addiction causing this?the person is a known pain pill addict but i heard that meth causes this. wondering if pain pills can cause a person to pick at their skin?

My husband's pain pill addiction is ruining our family. He sometimes spends his entire pay check on them. My heart is broken I love him and I know he is better that this. I can't seem to get him to understand that the whole family is suffering. We are soon to loose everything because he won't help me pay the bills. He has a herniated disk in his neck and gets 4 7.5 lorcets a day but, he has been selling them and buys10's off the street sometimes taking up to 17 10's a day. His surgery is scheduled for 4.13.2007. Should I tell his doctor of his addiction? He is not the person I married. We have 2 girls and this is not good for them. My nerves are always shot I can't sleep or eat. Is there anyone out there that can help me? Maybe someone that is or has been going through the same thing. I know he can overcome this and he has told me that he is only taking 4 a day now but, he lies to me so much I don't even know him anymore. What do I do when my mother is suffering pain pill addiction?
It happens every month. And a little over a month ago I witnessed her overdose and bounce back without any medical rehabilitation. She gave our family an ultimatum and we chose her over rehab. I think we should have chose rehab after all but it happened again yesterday. My dad acts like he's going to do something but he says it's all about the peace. What do I do when my father is too blind to see that enough is enough? Seek help elsewhere? He's become her bitch every time and I'm sick and embarrassed of it.

My husband has been taking the pills for about 4 or so years now. It started small and I know he is in pain but, come on. He has asked his Dr. for a higher strength but, he said " no" because after the surgery that's when he will need the higher strength.

My friend boyfriend I've known for many years is one of the most amazing sweet people I've ever met and it kills me that the past few years hes been addicted to pain pills. He has a friend that constantly supplies his addiction and makes it incredibly easy for him to keep getting them for nearly nothing. On top of that he's bipolar and HAS to take medicine just to live " normally" but I already care for him too much to walk away. Everyone else in his family has pretty much given up and they don't know what to do, and I don't know what to do. He's not working and doesn't have a car and yes sometimes I feel crazy for even considering being with him but something just keeps telling me maybe if I take the right steps to help him he will get help. He and I have had so many long talks and we are so right for each other and he even has cried to me about his problems and the way he feels and how he feels lost. The house he lives in is REALLY bad off, I won't even get into that He knows he has a problem but some days he says everything's fine and I'm so worried about him Please anyone who has been addicted to pills or knows someone who recovered, how should I talk to him and maybe convince him to go to counceling or a meeting without freaking him out? I know he has to be the one to do it, but I want to make sure I say the right things and take the right steps so I help him see that he doesn't have to live this way. On top of that I want to be able to at least reccomend affordable places he can go for counceling or meetings so any advice on the best places to go would mean a lot to me. Please help me

How can I help my mom's pain pill addiction?
She has been addicted to pills ever since she has been with her boyfriend who she has been going with for 5 years. Her pain started when she broke her back, and his pain happened from a car accident. I know they became addicted quickly he may have already been and it has only been getting worse since then. She will take pills before she drives me to school, while she's at work will go into detail later , and when she gets home. In total, she will take pills 7 times a day, at minimum. She is a " functioning drug addict." She works at an office job, making fairly decent money. My step dad works too, just not as a job as nice. How does she keep up with stuff? She is not aware that I know, because it has only gotten to the point now that I know she needs help. She does not act normal and is always tired, and she also has a lot of trouble with sleeping through the night. I want to talk to her, and I need to know what to say. You have no clue how much pain I'm in.I am sorry I forgot to mention one of the most important parts... they legally get roxicodone and oxycodone only 15 mg's and illegally oxycodone 30mg and 100mg morphine

my mom is 34 years old and has been taking hydrocodones every day for about 2 years, in the beggining she took about 12 or 13 then slowly went down to about 6 a day. the last time she took some was yesterday, she took 4 of them, she has not taken any today because she is trying to get off of them. she has been having loose bowels, nausea, vomiting, kinda shakey, she will get hot then cold and ever once ina while her heart will start beating fast. im very proud of her for trying to get off of them i was wondering are these normal syptoms for withdrawl and if so how long will she have to go through this before she is back to normal? and also is there anything i can do to help her, any medicines that would be okay to take for these symptoms? i dont want any mean or stupid answers please. i asked this once already and im asking again with more info. please help me out thanks so much

Prescription pain pills addiction?
My mom has had pain since July of 2010. Each month since then, she has had a prescription for either vicodin or percocet. In December, she had a hysterectomy which was supposed to relieve her pain but has not. Since July, she has had 10 prescriptions for the pain pills. She does not take more than prescribed but does take at least 1 a day for pain. The pain seems to get worse when she only has 3 or so pills left. Also, she has 3 different doctors prescribing them to her. Is this addiction? If so, are there any GOOD websites out there for help on talking to her and my dad who seems to think nothing is wrong?I am just worried that the prolonged use could be a problem. Her pain is in her right side. They have ruled out absessed bowels and appendicitis. She has had every test done and nothing has been found other than what they found and removed earlier. She is also on meds for bipolar and anxiety. She takes xanax everyday. I just think that all these meds are not good for her liver and are habit forming. That is the last thing she needs right now.
