I have been off the painkillers for a month now but I am still extremely depressed. The doctor has put me on depression medicine but I still can't return to normal. I feel like I can't be happy without the Vicodin. Will things ever get better?

Congrats for beating it. I know you have a long way to go but you have taken a big step. I myself am an addict & had to quit Vicodin cold turkey. Share these feelings with your Dr. or a friend. I can't tell the future but it sounds like you're taking steps to make things better for yourself. Many addicts relapse so don't beat yourself up if you do but do your best not to & again good luck.

Eventually yes, but it takes time. The only thing more powerful then Vicodin is heroin. Addiction to it is not an easy thing to beat.
