Why do opiates make me feel normal?
I either have Bipolar Disorder or Severe Depression. My shrink says it's bipolar but when I was hospitlized they wrote Major or Severe Depression. I've abused narcotics, like Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, and Heroin. I had to go to detox. When I got off of them I sunk so low into a depression. I just found a Vicodin an hour ago and took it. I feel like I am a normal person, I have energy to do stuff and I just feel like I want to be alive and not die. I know as soon as it wears off I will sink again into a deep dark suicidal depression. I have a script of Vicodin waiting for me at CVS. I want to get it filled so badly but I think that might lead me down the same path as before. I only got the script because I had dental work done. ANY IDEA WHAT I SHOULD DO? I wish i felt normal all the timeI've been DX'd with Bipolar, Depression, PTSD, OCD, Opiate Dependancy, anxiety

Why do opiates not work on some people?
I just had my wisdom teeth out yesterday and was prescribed Oxycodone for pain generic of percocet . This morning I took them for the first time. I did what my dentist said and took one, waited a bit didnt feel anything so I took another. I was completely unaffected. The only other experience I have had with opiates was a few years ago when i had hydrocodone prescribed for bronchitis. This did not effect me either even when taking more than the recommended dose.I have been told by many people, and now my dentist, that some people are not effected my opiates. How common is this, and why is this? Also, what are some pain medications that are not opiates? i would like to be as informed as possible so if I ever have any pain or procedures done in the future I will know what to request. Thank you for your help Also, i am only looking for informed answers either from personal experience or experience in the medical field NOT copies of information found off the internet. I can use google myself Thanks Edit please do not say there is no such thing as it not working. As I stated in my question i am looking only for informed answers, which that clearly is not. there are tons of studies out there about how opiates do not effect everyone.I also experimented with heroin once in my younger years, and again, no effect. Please do not post unless you have a real, informed answer.

I have read that the cut off level for opiates is 2000 nanograms per milliliter..how much does that equate to?
I'm not a frequent user of opiates, but in the last 3 months I have taken 3 pills can't remember the mg 1 approximately 70 days ago, 1 approximately 60 days ago, and 1 approximately 30 days ago. I am supposed to take a hair follicle drug test in a few days and I was wondering if this small usage would cause me to fail the drug test?

Why do opiates make it difficult to climax?
I have been taking perscribtion pain meds for two buldging discs in my neck and a pinched nerve plus more complications after the initial injury. anyway i realised that is makes it almost impossible for me to climax and i was just wondering what causes that? and is there anything i can do to change that besides stop taking my meds???

I felt heavy and weird after 30 minutes, puked like 5 times in 2 hours, and feel nothing happy. Any reasons? I know its Oxys cus they were in my mom's bottle.I didn't steal them, she said I could have them. And know I took 8. Just over 1 year ago my father was killed riding his motorbike by a crazed drugged, drink driver.After avoiding contact with our family for a year, she finally decided to call us to say that there were opiates found in my fathers system during autopsy. As you can imagine this in enraging.She has used this in court to put herself free from a charge of manslaughter, coming out with her license back she's still drink driving , and a measly $250 fine.My father had broken his hip in 3 places a couple of years before the incident which had kept him in pain ever since. I know my dad and he was extremely against drugs he hated taking any painkillers, even when it was very important. The only opiates he would've had in his system would have been from the pain killers he was given after breaking his hip.I just want a rough answer as to how long it could have stayed in his system.I'm now having great difficulty finding closure, and this is one of the steps I have to take to have justice served to this woman appropriately, or at least so I know the real story.Thank you.Just in response to Connor I'm not just taking her word for it, it was on the autopsy report and I'm trying to make sense of it.And yes, it isn't hard enough on people at all if a drugged drink driver can cross double lines on a blind plateu, park the car, kill a man, then cry to a judge about how hard she has it and come out with her liscence back & a slap on the wrist...It's freaking enfuriating. It's like one big middle finger from the legal system, really.

I am a recovering opiate addict and am having trouble getting panic attack medication. Please help!?
So i went into a walk in clinic earlier this week because i have been suffering from severe panic attacks ever since i was a kid. I ended up seeing a psychiactric associates clinic in 2006. They prescribed me zoloft along with xanax 1 mg to take three times daily as needed. The zoloft made me feel weird, and the Xanax helped tremendously It got me out of my house, helped me find a job, helped me find a girlfriend, and most of all let me be in public places without nearly passing out About a year later my prescribing doctor decided it was time for me to come off the xanax and just go with the zoloft. My anxiety came back ten times worse. So I ended up self medicating and developed an addiction to hydrocodone and percocet. I would seek these from multiple doctors and adventually got caught for doctor shopping. I spent 30 days in rehab to get off these opiates.So when I went into the walk in clinic the doctor I saw was extremely rude. He said he didnt like what he saw on my medical records and noticed I was red flagged by the DEA from my previous addiction to opiates. He refused to prescribe me xanax again and only gave me zoloft, and even told me he was going to reccomend that I get my license suspended because I have panic attacks when I drive. My main question is how do I go about getting myself off this red flag list so I can get the medication I really need and not end up self medicating again These doctors and the DEA just dont seem to understand this. I NEVER abused the xanax, it was the miracle medicine i've been looking for my entire life. I need to get this worked out with the DEA or find a doctor that understands my situation. These people think that since I self medicated and was addicted to opiates, I am just as prone to abuse xanax, thus making me suffer horribly once again. I am back at sitting in my house all day, afraid to drive, afraid to socialize, am currently unemployed, and I dont want to have to buy xanax off the streets. PLEASE HELP ME WITH WHAT I SHOULD DO
