Question: Suboxone for opiate withdrawals?
(Posted by: on 2010-07-22 01:17:14)
I'm about to quit taking hydrocodone basically cold turkey. Im tired of using the pills, and being their slave. My prescrip is up, bottles empty tonight, I have half a suboxone 8mg for tomorrow, im going to take little peices for as many days as it lasts to keep me from withdrawing and feverish etc so I can keep going to work and dont have to call in Theres no tapering down from the hydrocodone. I was on 3 a day of the 10mg's, not much but was very emotionally/ mentally addicted. I need to wait until Im withdrawing first before putting it under my tongue? and when I do, will it make my withdrawals worse? ( precipitated) Thanks |

Methadone is a synthetic opioid used medically as a painkiller, but also to treat patients on opioids such as heroin. |

Yes but what is your plan for after that 8mg tab is gone? You've already stated that you were "very emotionally/ mentally addicted ", so what is your recovery plan after that one Suboxone? If you don't have some sort of treatment or support in place, you will relapse in no time. Recovery is more than just getting through the physical withdrawals, because it's the psychological that usually gets people anyway. |

Your plan is a good one. going on suboxone maintenance for a 30 mg a day dependence would be VERY foolish, but your plan is great. that's how rehabs do it... Yes, wait til you are in full blown withdrawal, and let a little sliver dissolve under your tongue. I would powder what you have and divide it into equal piles, remember, suboxone is 50 times stronger than morphine, so a little dust is all you need. good luck!! |

Heroin is a semi-synthetic opioid drug synthesized from morphine, a derivative of the opium poppy. |
