This is not so much an answer as a supplement to the nurses answer. i am currently going through withdrawal, and instead of Clonazepam (Klonopin), ask about Clonidine. It isnt a Benzo. It helps me get to sleep, and it is designed to smooth out withdrawal symptoms. no more chills, insomnia, and nausea for me! at the risk of sounding like an advertisement, ask your doctor about clonidine today! also, as a nighttime supplement, try melatonin. its natural, (you brain makes it to help promote sleep), over the counter, and cheap. plus it works. and both of these medications are safer than unisom, which i have also taken. unisom puts you out for the night, but you dont wake up feelign rested at all. a healthy sleep is a restful sleep and unisom is not a healthy sleep promoting medicine. |

Take a walk outside, come back and watch a funny movie...you usually either can't sleep at all or can't stay awake...nothing is really going to help...just hang in there until it is over... |

This is going to sound crazy, but crazy works. First try and relax, (hard I know, but try) secondly focus on the feelings involved. become aware of the body, the pains, all of it. Start with the hands and feet. Try and feel alive. Don't try to fight it. accept it. accept that this is what is happening right now, and let it pass. become aware of any negative thoughts, and let them pass as well. once you are aware of the body, and mind ( not the addiction) you can take back control of your world. |

Okay here it goes....... This is going to be hard but you CAN do it. First if you have enough of the medication left then try tapering it off slowly. If you don't then it is going to be much harder. You will need something to help you sleep at night. The best thing for this is Klonopin if you can get it from your doctor. This will also help with the leg and muscle cramps you are going to experience. Second you will need to get some generic Immodium over the counter because severe adominal pain along with diarrhea is going to happen. You may feel like you have the flu and you will be very irritable and you may even think you are going to die but you won't .The end results are SOOOOO worth it. I use to know of this combination of drugs and vitamins that you get over the counter that is amazing to help with this. I found it over the internet but I am sorry I do not remember what it is called. but you can surg the internet and try to find out what it is. Trust me that it will be one of the hardest things you will do but it can and will save your life. You can get some unisom over the counter to help you sleep if you can't get any Klonopin. You can also try to increase you intake potassium with bananas etc. The most severe symptoms will last about five to seven days and then it starts to taper off. You may need to take a little bit of time off from work to just stay in your house and fight the withdrawl symptoms. The bottom line is that you can do this. You actuallly can beat this.I have faith in you and I am praying for you. I have helped someone very close to me go through this and if you want to email me I will be happy to be your support system. |
