I've been on methadone for over a year at 60mg per day. I have successfully weened myself all the way down to 10mg per day and after taking 5mg for a few days I plan on stopping completely. Can anybody recommend any medications or techniques for getting through the coming withdrawal as comfortably as possible? I would obviously prefer methods that you've personally used so I have a bit more assurance that this is going to be OK. Thank you! Please don't recommend that I detox under medical supervision or in a rehab treatment facility. I'm definitely doing this in the comfort of my own home.

Well done you for doing this! I think the best thing to do is to keep busy. Keep your mind on other things. Distraction is a great form of medication.
