No. Withdrawals feel like you'll die, but in all actuality it is INCREDIBLY unlikely. Methadone is just like any other opiate - like oxycontin or heroin, or dilaudid, or morphine. The difference is its half-life - it simply stays in your system longer. Withdrawals from methadone should be no different than any other opiate....

It can cause tremors and tachycardia (heart pumping too fast) so it could be deadly
