My friend is on day 3 of quitting "cold turkey ". He is extremely agitated, sweating, and looks awful. How long will this last? PS- He is on my couch!! Serious answers only please....

I was a methadone counselor for over 10 years... so I know what I am talking about...... Quiting methadone is just like quiting herone..... It will take a good 2 weeks or longer for him to feel better.... good luck to him/ her.... best thing to do is care for him/ her and I pray that he/ she will be well soon....PS don't expect him/ her to stop using...... He/ she needs serious help

Nothing you can really do but support his decision. thats why its called withdraw. i too had to watch a friend go through withdraw and she was much better in a week. good luck
