Ok so morphine comes from the extracted poppy pod and heroin can be processed and created from this as well, however as methadone is a synthetic opiod, this means its had to be processed and created from somewhere, so where does methadone come from, how is it made and would it be harder to make heroin, methadone, or pure morphine?

methadone pills and syringes Methadone is a synthetic opioid used medically as a painkiller, but also to treat patients on opioids such as heroin.

There's a book at my school that actually tells you step by step how to make heroin. From the opium flower all the way to melting it down. From what I can remember, heroin is made from morphine. Pure morphine has to be boiled down and a bunch of other processes I can't remember and methadone is either made from certain alkaloid in opium or just chemicals in a lab. From the book it would be easier to make pure morphine. If you had opium poppy and it would be easier to make methadone if you had allot of chemicals, chemistry lessons. I understand your probably curious but some people are not so understanding.
