Self harm (cutting) and heroin at once?

Question: Self harm (cutting) and heroin at once?

If someone is bleeding, and loosing blood while they are very high on heroin for the first times, could it lead to death? i have friends talking of doing this as a way of higher, cutting themselves causing a good portion of blood lose, then injecting or snorting heroin shortly after, but could the bleeding/ drugs combined cause death? is the chance of death very high though? or would one survive, but come out with mental side effects from it? i know everything there is to know about heroin and how the addiction can effect someone over time. so try not to get into that as much if you could, and just the effects of cutting oneself and heroin together.

Larry, Yes they could die or overdose because of the blood loss, it's a stupid thing to do and as far as the heroin use it's self is a death sentense because you get use to the dosage then it takes more and more for the high you used to get on very little but that changes and you quit getting high on the regular dosage so you have to keep upping the dosage it's a death cycle, please don't even start on it' Good Luck Rita V

Yes. If you lose enough blood your heart will not be able to beat properly and will beat incorrectly, eventually causing death as more blood is lost. Also, before that, the person will probably pass out because of the drop in blood pressure that occurs from blood loss, so they won't be able to "enjoy " the heroin's effects. People obviously should not do heroin, as one never knows what it was cut with, how strong the dose is , their tolerance level, etc., but if they add loss of blood, they're more likely to fall asleep (pass out) and maybe die because they can't feel those changes (erratic heartbeat, low blood pressure, shock) that are happening to them, and get help for themselves.
