I think you should tell him that you're going to be there for him but tell him that you're not going to judge him that you just want to help him. Some signs are: If he hasn't used in about 24 hours or so, he'll start to get the shakes, sweaty, sick, etc. You will notice the shakes. Also, he will get skinny because he won't want to eat. I think you're right, that you did find the baggies so he most likely is using. Does he get overly anxious for no reason? Is he spending more money? You should talk to him about finding a doctor who prescribes Suboxone. Anyways, heroin high is the same as a percocdet / oxycontin high so if he was prescribed pain meds and the drs stopped them, then most likely he's addicted. Gooooooooooood Luckkkkk And Xanax is a very bad medication. So isn't klonipin, ativan and valium

I think heroin is a very strong drug and needs professional help rather than you trying to figure out. It is very difficult for even the professional people to help them, I think you need to let him consult with professional people or rehab center but i think it is up to him. You really can't change people. Whether he comes clean or not that is not that important unless he wants to change. He cannot start healing his depression unless he becomes drug free. When you talk to someone who has drug in his system, it's like a talking to a wall.

Well, the first problem. Once you have done Heroin then are an addict. Yes, one jab, one dragon and you won't be off it. Also if you don't take for a day or about that time period then you will get the chronic shakes... The worst shakes you will see. Finally, if you want to get off the H then you will be prescribed 'Codeine' with is supposidly less addictive but it is about the same. But it doesn't have all the shit like H. So look for all those signs and you find Codeine then he is trying to get off it. Final point, if he is a heroin head then he will sell the house to buy it. Just warning ya.
