That all depends on how much and how long you were taking it. If you were a heavy user then the with-drawls will take longer. Generally the with-drawls will be pretty severe for about two weeks. Although the severe with-drawls don't start until about seven days after you stop using. So really you go through about seven to ten days of pretty bad with-drawl symptoms.

That's a great question but I'm sure it's one of those that can only be answered by "it depends. " Basically, during withdrawal your body 'rebels.' Heroin is a depressant, so during withdrawal all the depressed systems are hyperactive and you experience almost the opposite of heroin's effects. How long it lasts, just like the intensity of withdrawal, I'm sure depends on how dependent the user is on the drug.
