Suboxone for heroin withdrawal?
Hey, i'm mary 18yrs old and I have been struggling very badly with a heroin addiction for the past 7 months of my life and i hate doing it. I do about two bags a day i used to do more, but i cut down a lot to try and ween myself off. Two days ago i decided to try cold turkey, needless to say i could NOT DO it, After 13 hours without it i was in such severe pain, had trouble breathing, my heart beat was all weird, could barely stand and yeah it was terrible. It scared me to death, I have a friend who tells me Suboxone worked for them and they were fine after a few days. To be prescribed to Suboxone do you have to be put away into a hospital or anything? Because i just want the presciption and to go to NA and some out patient programs. I can't leave my house, my animals or anything. I would never ever go into a rehab. I hate being not able to go where i want when i want or to be able to go outside. Plus my boyfriend is in jail right now, he's miserable detoxing in there and i am trying to do them same. I just need some help. It'll all be worth it in the end.Thank you for your help. Please answer seriously because i hate when people make fun of someone or is mean on this thing when they have no idea what they are talking about. Thanks again

How to treat heroin withdrawal symptoms?
I have a very close friend who has been doing heroin not sure how long and he is trying to get off it. Pretty sure he has been clean for the last 2 weeks. It is very hard for him, but he is staying at my apartment for a while, so he has a lot of support from my room mate and me. I think he is beginning to have withdrawal because he is very cold and has vomited a couple of times today. His doctor and therapist told us this would happen, but I don't like to see him feeling like this. He is doing well as far as staying away from drugs, especially opiates. But I want to know how I can make the withdrawal less painful, because it seems to be hurting him a lot. Any ideas? And will it get any worse???
Which is worst alcohol withdrawal or heroin withdrawal and why?
I have a personal question in regards to heroin withdrawal/suboxone?
I have been taking heroin for about 6 months.... not injecting but sniffing it. I haven't been doing too much until recently and desperately want to stop. When I say I haven't done too much, I have been doing it every day, about 8 10 bags a day for the last 2 weeks or so. I have about 7 suboxone tablets that i got from a friend and was going to use those for the first few days if it was really tough but I was wondering how I will feel after a week of using suboxone. Will i have withdrawal from suboxone at that time??? If I havent done too much should I just try to quit without using anything. Any thoughts.... I made a mistake by getting mixed up with this and just want to put it behind me.
Question about heroin/ withdrawals?
say someone used to be a heroin addict. injecting about half a gram a day for about a year, but then quit using suboxone about 3 weeks ago. well about a week ago i just had shot, and the next day i started getting really sick.. felt like the withdrawals that i felt when i first got off it without the suboxone for help... eg hot cold flushes, tired, sick, throwing up, fever, sweating, cantsleep, aching body so bad i was screaming in pain. oh and this has lasted 5 days... i had to go to the er on the 2nd night and get pain med endone to help me sleep.i just cant believe that i could go through such bad withdrawals after my first shot in like 3 weeks.is this possible?? or could it be something totally unrelated thanks heaps
Heroin withdrawals/relapse?
Hello, my boyfriend was addicted to heroin for 6 months, he injected. He has now been clean for 2 months and as far as I know hasn't relapsed. I only seem him once a month, but we talk everyday. A few questions I have is what are some ways I can tell if he has relapsed, not necessarily with heroin, but any opiate? Another question I have is he was really sick today, he was all stuffed up, had a runny nose, watery eyes, sinus tension, he threw up, soar throat, I know some of those are signs of withdrawals, which would mean he has relapsed, or could he really just have a sinus infection? Answers from recovering heroin addicts would be really helpful Thank you
Heroin withdrawal...?
I brought a childhood friend home with me after Christmas break who is trying to kick heroin. Noon will make 72 hours since she has used. I hear that the first 72 hours are the hardest. My question is, at what point does the insomnia go away? And is the leg kicking, arm waving, and disorientation part of the withdrawal process? This is my first experience with anything of this sort, and I want to be able to help her in whatever way I can, and while I have talked to her doctors and counselors who are supporting us through all of this, I'd like to hear from some people who have actually gone through this themselves. Thank you all in advance.Edit It is being done with medical supervision. I am in constant touch with her doctors and counselors.
