I am sorry for your loss. Heroin is a narcotic. All narcotics, even the ones that doctor's prescribe for pain, can cause the part of the brain that controls respiration to stop working. It is called central nervous system depression (depression like in decrease not emotions). Essentially your sister just stopped breathing (respiratory arrest). She did not suffer. She went to sleep and did not wake up. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
