Neither of the above responses is true. It takes up the receptors normally occupied by heroin, stopping its effect.

Its a less powerful/ addictive drug used to wean addicts off of heroin (going cold turkey can kill you)

Narcan....is an antidote for narcotics..and other drugs.. it is a catalysts for reducing blood volume of the drug.. and its side effects on the heart, brain..etc..its like a pac man eating the drug ... so your cells are eating less of it...hope I didnt confuse you more...
