Heroin Overdose: Methadone & Heroin Facts

Question: Can anyone tell me why they dispense narcan to people with heroin overdoses? what does it do???

Neither of the above responses is true. It takes up the receptors normally occupied by heroin, stopping its effect.

Its a less powerful/ addictive drug used to wean addicts off of heroin (going cold turkey can kill you)

Narcan....is an antidote for narcotics..and other drugs.. it is a catalysts for reducing blood volume of the drug.. and its side effects on the heart, brain..etc..its like a pac man eating the drug ... so your cells are eating less of it...hope I didnt confuse you more...
