i lack any understanding in science. so a little help please.ive been reading debates as to wether heroin overdose or a mixture with other drugs, speedball is a painfull way to go. most say that it is painless, and they fall asleep and die.but ive read that heroin overdose causes 'respiration depression' and the person basically can't breathe as its brain is not sending the required messages to the lungs.so how is it painless,? isn't it just like suffocating to death?..my friend passed away 2 years ago becuase of this. i just want to understand this.

My brother passed away on New Years Eve. My brother was in and out of their lives so the fact that they have not seen him in 8 months is not a big difference than when he was alive. Someone I know took heroin to relieve a tooth ache which I don't know why in the world they would do that. He ended up in the hospital for an overdose and he like stopped breathing and they had to revive him 3 times, and on top of that he had a heart attack bc he wasn't breathing. He is a major drug addict and has been for 10 years now but doesn't want help. I am guessing hes pretty lucky bc you would think someone wouldn't make it through something like that. What happens if he starts drinking or smoking again since he had a overdose and heart attack? Is there any way a family member or friend can get him into rehab or does he have to go if he only wants too? I don't see him stop being a drug addict even though the doctors told him he cant drink or smoke, but hes been doing it behind peoples backs now for a couple years, so whats gonna make him stop I really want him to get help Also can heroin, weed, coke, and etc make you depressed and want to commit suicide, and have anxiety?
