Why would you need a heroin detox if you are using methadone? If you go into withdrawal without heroin your methadone dose is too low and you have to raise it. If you are addicted to heroin and are using methadone for that the average dose of methadone is 80-120mg. If you raise your dose to where it keeps withdrawal symptoms away for 24 hours that's all you need. Then you can decrease your methadone dose from there if you want to. I don't believe it's possible to detox off one opiate while still taking another. Either way most detox clinics will not accept people on methadone. You can call around and ask to find out for sure. |
