Question: What are some good books about the experiences of a heroin addict?

Because i want to write a book that involves drug addiction and i kinda want to know what I'm talking about and i figured i can use these books as inspiration.

Ohh well I have no books to offer you... but I have some amazing movies about drug addiction for you to watch: Requiem For A Dream (by far the best one so start with this one) Trainspotting The Basketball Diaries Blow These are great drug addiction movies and show the horrors of drugs and how people go about getting them and stuff, but the first two are about heroin exclusively. Confessions of an Opium Eater by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. To my knowledge it's the first published book in the English language about a drug addiction. Coleridge was a famous English poet, he wrote The Rime of the Mariner among other poems.

The best book is "A Gentle Fury " by Rohrbach. An inspirations story about a young priest and a boy who dies of a heroin overdose Also Pot is Rot by Jean Vermes. Has cartoon illustrations
