Heroin Addiction: Methadone & Heroin Facts

Question: 911!!! need some drug advice? anyone know about heroin addiction?

I recently posted the following question and got alot of opinions but no knowledge pertaining to the drug...PLEASE HELP ME! My husband just recently admited to having a several year secret addiction to heroin- which would explain our maritial problems and separation. He claims he only smokes it and " hates needles "- yet- three weeks ago- he claims he quit when he was sent to jail for a week on another charge. BUT- since he has been out- He first appeared sweaty and sick- like withdrawls but now- he is not sweating except alot in his sleep- he is hallucinating BIGTIME in his sleep and his speech seems slurred and quieter than usual. And his voice seems higher pitched and strained. Marijuana seems to make him WAY more messed up than ever before. Hie pupils are non- existant( could that be caused from anything else?- his eyes are rolling and scattered and his skin seems kinda ashy again. Last week, he pointed out three syringes and some tin foil in my yard- mind you- I live in Beverly HIlls and have never have never seen drugs in my yard- after he left, they never appeared again.Could him showing me this be his cry for help? Even though he claims they werent his? How do I know if he is still on it? Is there a difference in behavior between shooting it and smoking it? I feel so uneducated and he is refusing to be honest and claims he has been sober for a month now- but how long do the withdrawl effects last? And do your pupils shrink and eyes appear more blue during withdrawl or only while using? Do other drugs cause this small pupil effect too?, Also- if he was taking a pill substitute- would that still show up on a home drug test? so I thought maybe someone could shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

Junkies lie. He needs to get help for himself. I'd refuse to see him while he is playing this game. In fact I'd dump him totally if it was my man. He has been lying to you about this, but what else is he hiding? How does he pay for all the drugs? The tiny pupils are most probably heroin... sounds like heavy use to me.

Yes i used to be addicted to somthing relevent to heroin Morphien every time that feeling in my back of warmness was gone i got pissed off and couldnt sit still i was addicted to very maney pain killers because i was hit by a car he has to wheen himself off heroin not just stop if he just stops, when i was ON and OFF morphien mostly on i would hallucinate like the clock has eyes and id sit there and stare if what i read about him and pot marijuana effects me like crazy since i started other drugs WITHDRAWLS LAST: enywhere from 3 days up to a couple months depending on doseages for you other people especialy the one who says "id dump my man " or whatever do you know enything about heroin and what it does to you? if you wouldnt support you "man " then break up with him NOW because he has no choice but to lie hes probobly ashamed and afraid and hurting and just because his pupils are pined doesnt mean heavey user i bet you 300 bucks you take a hit of crack your puils will be pinned as shit and 1 hit isnt very much most crack heads smoke hit after hit after hit because of the short high oh yeah dont smoke crack even 1 time or your addicted no matter wat pretty much 1 hit wont be your last

He's probably on heroin again. drug addicts are prone to lie a lot because hiding is a way of denial of their addiction. some withdrawal effects like depressed mood or anxiety can last months after quitting it but not shrinked pupils or sweating like that (by the way you can not hallucinate in your sleep, you must be awake and see or hear or feel nonexistant things to call it hallucination). he should go to rehab immediately.

The only thing that makes pupils small is opiates. If they are like pindots then he is def high. In all reality he probably does shoot it. There is NO difference in behavior between shooting and smoking AT ALL. You can tell if he is shooting it though. Check his arms, between his toes, on his throat, and anywhere else he might have a vein. Also, there are a few different types of heroin. Being that you are from LA (near mexico), and that he pointed out tin foil I am guessing that it is "black tar Heroin ". The "white " heroin comes in a wax baggie (from middle east) and is impossible to snort. The black tar variety can only be smoked or shot. Withdrawl from heroin lasts about five days. That's the physical part of it. The mental part can last well into five years. I have a very simple solution to find out if he is still on it or not. Go to your nearest drug store and buy a drug test. Ask him to take it. If he does, you have your answer. If he does not, he is using 100%. A drug addict will not have any "you don't trust me " issues. A drug addict is the first person to prove you wrong if he can. If he is clean he will pee as fast as lightning, then rub it in. And make it a surprise. Otherwise he can make arrangements to "pass " your test. About the drug test. Opium will show up. Any other opiates will show up the same way. What I would reccomend for him is to try Suboxone. It has a little dose of the drug to make you feel ok, but more importantly it has a blocker like "naltrexone " which will block opiates from entering into his brain. And it does not show up on tests, but it also does not get people high. This is a bad situation to be in, but a heroin addict is not the best person to be around. I guess you guys have money (Beverly Hills) which is why it took you this long to find out. I'm not sure what else you want to know, but in all reality I think he is very addicted. Heroin Addicts don't usually just stop after a few years of addiction. And they def don't act normal for weeks after they stop doing Heroin.
