Heroin Addiction: Methadone & Heroin Facts

Question: On average, how long does it take to build a strong heroin addiction.?

Would it be realistic, if a character in a movie was given large (although not large enough to kill) doses of heroin over a few days, or up to a week, would that cause a heroin addiction? Or does heroin addictions, like we see in movies, take longer to build?

Idk form experience but I think the psychological addiction would happen first; the person would have to like it. The physical addiction would have to occur eventualy, but sorry, I don't know how long it take to develop that.

My ex was a heroin user she got hooked on her first hit and by the end of 2 weeks she was a junkie and hanging out for the stuff chronically. She ended up overdosing after a few years of abuse

Most people I've seen use heroin get hooked up on the first hit. Seriously, if you're a heroin addict, you'll be one for the rest of your life. You'll always have the craving. Heroin is a highly addictive substance, because it takes no work for the heroin to pass the blood-brain barrier. I mean, just put it like this, what makes you think that is not addictive? How many people have not died using it? Besides, withdrawal is just fucking horrible. I mean, hideous. Like a two month long constipation with fever and torture. Heroin is one of those drugs that everyone is scared of because of all the right reasons. Why do you think that people are scared over it even if most media don't exaggerate its dangers? Because they know how bad it is, like drinking bleach. And exactly what movie says that a heroin addiction takes long to build? Just avoid that shit, there's better things to try. You know its entirely possible and completely true that you can get hooked, so seriously, just... Fucking diss it.
