Drug Withdrawal: Methadone & Heroin Facts

Question: Will a hospital help you if you go there & also not call the police if you are having drug withdrawal symptoms?

I was told that some hospitals can help you and some can not.Does anyone know anything about the hospitals in Kentucky ? Do they call the police or anything like that or no ? There is someone I am very close to that I want to help but I don't want for them to get in any trouble of any kind if I take them there.It's terrible watching them suffer.It all began by them trying to treat themselves for chronic pain but obviously it did not work very well.They still have pain after the drugs wear off and now they are very sick on top of that and now they have no money because they do anything and everything to get money and spend their last penny so that they won't have to go through being sick.Thanks for any help you can give me.

I think hospitals have to treat anyone going through a serious withdrawal. Sometimes withdrawals (depending on the drug) can be dangerous. Most people who go to the hospital for withdrawal are usually having problems like seizures or chest pain. Even if a hospital can help your friend, once he/ she gets out they'll want go back to the drugs. It's a cycle, your friend needs help to get clean.

I wouldnt go to a hospital because you would get charged a butt load instead go to a outlying clinic or a rehab place.
